AI on this site
A search that understands looks, not an art machine
“Describe it, find it” uses an AI model to match your words to real player-made presets. Here’s how it works, where else this kind of AI is helping, and the fair questions about it.
- Runs in your browser The model downloads once (about 320 MB, plus about 190 MB the first time you search a character name) and is cached.
- Nothing is generated Every result is a real preset, credited to its creator.
- Your text stays with you Nothing you type is sent to an AI company.
How it works
-
You describe a look
“Silver hair, red eyes, sharp jaw” — or the name of a character you love.
-
The model compares
Google’s open SigLIP 2 model measures how close your words are to screenshots of about 11,800 player-made presets.
-
You get real presets
The closest matches from NCSoft’s Style Shop, each credited to the player who made it.
Where else AI is helping
The same family of models that powers this search is doing real work elsewhere. A few examples, with sources:
Protein structures
DeepMind’s AlphaFold predicts protein shapes from their sequence. Its free database holds over 200 million predictions, and its creators shared the 2024 Nobel Prize in Chemistry.
AlphaFold DatabaseMedical imaging
The US FDA has authorised over a thousand AI-enabled medical devices, most of them in radiology, where they help clinicians read scans.
FDA device listWeather forecasts
GraphCast, published in Science in 2023, makes 10-day global forecasts in under a minute and beat a leading traditional system on over 90% of the measures tested.
Google DeepMindLive captions
Android’s Live Caption subtitles videos, podcasts and calls as they play, processed entirely on the phone.
Google HelpWriting code
In a GitHub study of 95 developers, those using an AI code assistant finished a set task 55% faster. This site was built with that kind of help.

Fair questions
- Does this take anything from artists?
- We never generate or edit character looks. We only show presets players chose to publish, credit them, and link back to NCSoft’s Style Shop. The site’s background art and logo were made with Meshy’s image AI, and we say so.
- What happens to what I type?
- It stays in your browser. Character-name searches look the name up on AniList or Wikipedia to fetch a reference picture; nothing goes to an AI company and nothing is used to train a model.
- How accurate is it?
- Good at the overall vibe, sometimes wrong on details. The match % is a guide, not a promise — check the screenshot.
- What does running a model cost?
- The one big cost is the one-time download (about 320 MB, plus 190 MB for character-name searches). After that each search is a short burst of work on your own device, with no server farm running per search. It’s free, with no accounts.
- Are any presets hidden?
- Yes: presets whose title or creator name is sexual or sexualizes minors are hidden. Only the words are checked, not the pictures, so if one slips through, let us know.
